Doors Open Belleville 2019 was another resounding success. There were 18 sites, the largest number of sites in many years, and over 1,100 people visited them. There were people from Toronto, Whitby, many citizens from Belleville and their out of town family.
Over 130 people visited City Hall; the Children’s Safety Village had 150 with children waiting in line to ride around their miniature city; Glanmore House had close to 400 people again.
With Ontario Heritage Trust making this year’s Doors Open about communication, CEGCO Your TV and the Loyalist College Digital Media Centre/and Library were on board.
Mayor Mitch Panciuk giving some tours of the upper floors of City Hall and was at many sites throughout the city during the day.
Plans are already underway for Door Open 2020 with several of the sites being on board again and at least one new site has declared an interest.
