The Wellington Dukes were victorious last night over their east division rival Whitby Fury.
Jake Gagnon lead the charge offensively with two goals and two assists in the 5-2 win.
The Dukes were able to overcome 10 minor penalties to hold off a late Fury attack. Matt Dunsmoor was in net for the win making 41 saves on 43 shots.
Frank Vittuci, Dawson Ellis and Jake Vreugdenhil picked up the other Duke goals while Brett Humberstone tallied three assists and Dylan Massie picked up two apples.
The Dukes will now travel to Trenton tomorrow (Sunday) to take on the Golden Hawks in the Battle of Quinte. This installment of the rivalry has first place on the line in the east division as both Trenton and Wellington sit tied for first with five wins and just one loss.
