With all of the discussion surrounding water quality on Oak Lake, one area resident wants people to know that the folks who live there are doing their part.
Scott Symons has been a vocal advocate of Quinte West’s plan to rehabilitate the lake and spoke to council again on Monday.
He says 30 of the 50-plus residents around the lake have formed an official Ontario Cottage Association Group to watch the lake and he’s spearheading the plan to educate shoreline property owners on how they can help.
The city hired a consultant in 2018 who has been studying the ecosystem around the lake for the last year and has made some recommendations on how to improve things.
