The Wellington Dukes continue to sit atop the East Division standings in the OJHL.
Wellington got by Cobourg on Friday night by a score of 5-2 to improve to 3-0.
Jacob Vreugdenhil led the way with two goals for the Dukes.
Vreugdenhil opened scoring at the 6:20 mark of the first period, giving Wellington the early lead at home.
The Cougars weren’t to be outdone and scored a goal of their own less than 20 seconds later to make it a 1-1 game.
Cobourg then took their first lead of the game 30 seconds later when Xavier Martel beat Dukes keeper Matthew Keeley to make it a 2-1 game.
Vreugdenhil scored his second of the game just before the midway point of the period, tying the game once more.
The 2-2 score held for the remainder of the period and through to the final frame before Wellington
Jake Gagnon and Quinn Hanna scored goals and Frank Vitucci added an empty netter to seal the win.
The Dukes are back in action on Sunday night when they take on the Toronto Jr. Canadians.
