UPDATE @ 1:15 p.m.: OPP say a distress call in Weller’s Bay this morning turned out to be a false alarm.
Members of the OPP Marine Unit, Prince Edward County Fire Department and Joint Rescue Coordination Centre responded just before 11:00 a.m. after reports of a capsized boat, off Smokes Point in Ameliasburgh.
A tweet from OPP East Region around 1:15 p.m. says their investigation is over and there was nobody in danger.

Prince Edward County firefighters are in the water of Wellers Bay this hour.
They’re looking for a possible capsized boat, which was reported before 11:00 a.m.
A fire official tells Quinte News that they haven’t found anything yet, but are continuing to search.
