Quinte Region first responders will gather tomorrow to honour their New York City counterparts who were killed during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
The ceremony, which is scheduled to run between 8:15 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., will be held at the new Quinte West Fire Station No.1 and will involve firefighters, paramedics and police officers from across the area.
Instead of holding numerous ceremonies, local emergency service chiefs have decided to move the event around the area, from Belleville to Quinte West this year and to another location next year.
Members of the public are also being invited to attend to show their respect for those who were lost when two planes crashed into the World Trade Centre and a third hit the Pentagon that day.
