A 30-year-old Belleville man has been sentenced to four more years in jail, after being convicted of sexual interference, sexual assault and two counts of possessing child pornography.
Justice Wolf Tausendfreund found the man, who can only be identified as AC, was guilty of inappropriately touching both an 8-year-old and 13-year-old girl, and was also found to have close to 500 images of child pornography on his computer, as well as some videos.
The sentence is in addition to one handed down in August, which included a 14-month jail term, two years probation, a sex offender registry order and a ban from being near playgrounds and parks, for exchanging inappropriate Facebook messages with a separate 13-year-old.
Crown Attorney Lee Burgess says in that case, he and the girl discussed getting together, but they never met.
The man has been in custody since May of 2018 and was also given credit for time served.
Burgess says in total, the man will serve 653 days in jail, from today’s date.
