Change is likely coming to the way boaters are charged for docking their vessels at the Trent Port Marina.
Quinte West’s Corporate Finance Committee is recommending council approve charging moorage fees by the length of the dock and not by the length of the boat as has been the practice.
Marina staff say more revenue would be generated by the change as there are currently many boaters using significantly longer docks than they actually need and call it a more equitable fee system.
If the proposal is approved the new moorage fee method would come into effect in the 2021 season.
