A significant grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation is going to help provide fresh produce to people across Hastings County.
$523,000 is going towards the Community Development Council of Quinte’s Good Food Market Program, which will support indoor markets across the county, which run once a month and help control the cost of food for families on a tight budget.
Market Program Coordinator Jennifer Allen tells Quinte News, the cash will allow CDC to grow its staff and the number of markets it offers.
Allen adds that despite popular belief, there are no restrictions on who can use the program.
