A recent Prince Edward County business retention and expansion survey shows a vibrant arts, entertainment and recreation sector.
Key findings from the four month survey with more than 80 interviews conducted, show that sector represents 20% of The County’s workforce, which is 44% higher than the national average and that the sector has grown more than 20% since 2009.
The report also shows more than 90% of businesses in PEC are locally owned, with growth of those businesses being attributed to increased visitor traffic and the attractiveness of The County’s brand.
Almost all of the respondents also said they expect the sector to continue to grow.
