Centre Hastings and Tweed Fire Departments both in action today(yesterday).
Centre Hastings Fire Chief Craig Horton says a drive shed on a farm on the Moira Road was destroyed by fire in the noon hour. Flames destroyed a truck, a tractor, and a backhoe, among other things. The cause is unknown, but the fire is not suspicious.
And, Tweed Chief Don Barnett says his firefighters answered a call around 2 o clock finding an old woodshed destroyed by fire.
The fire was near the Red Barn on Stoco Road. It’s believed a wood furnace caused.
Firefighters in both blazes had to work quickly in high winds to stop flames from spreading to other buildings.
