Brighton council will discuss an amended plan to develop a large chunk of land beside and just west of the No Frills/Tim Horton’s development.
The 17.1 acres of vacant land has been known locally as the Craft Properties.
The new proposal calls for six blocks of medium density residential which could contain single family houses and townhouses, three and a half acres for commercial development in which a supermarket would not be permitted, and four acres of land would be set aside for a large retirement home with 130 units.
Staff is recommending council not make a decision on the proposal until all public and agency comment is collected and analyzed.
