Six survivors of a float plane crash on a lake north of Huntsville were happy to see a Hercules aircraft and a Griffon helicopter from 8 Wing Trenton’s 424 Squadron this morning (Monday).
The crash left one person dead.
Two search and rescue technicians were lowered to the scene from the Griffon chopper while 2 others parachuted into the site on Upper Raft Lake around 10 o’clock.
Medical attention was given to the six survivors on shore and all were airlifted to an airport in Muskoka.
Three people had suffered injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
