Belleville Police Service responded to 78 calls for service from August 2, 2019 at 5 a.m., to August 3 at 5 a.m.
Arrest on Warrants
On August at 9 p.m., after a short foot chase in the Tracey Park Dr. area, police arrested a 24-year-old man on outstanding warrants. The Belleville man had two warrants consisting of five breach of probation charges and a single count of theft under $5,000. The man is being held overnight for a video remand appearance in the morning.
On August 3 at approximately 12:30 a.m., an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop after he observed a vehicle fail to stop for an amber light. When the officer checked the man it was found that Prince Edward County OPP held an arrest warrant for him for four counts of breaching his undertaking. The male was transported to the Belleville Police Service where OPP met them and released 55-year-old Belleville resident Allen Neil Tompkins on a promise to appear. He was also issued a provincial offence notice for the traffic violation.
On August 3 at approximately 4 a.m., police took into custody a 36-year-old Durham region resident for a number of warrants with charges including breach of recognizance, possession of stolen property, impersonation, uttering forged documents, breach of probation, fraud, theft and failing to attend court. She also has warrants for her arrest out of Kingston and is being held in custody for a video remand appearance in the morning.
Shoplifter
On August 2 at 7:30 p.m., police were called to Quinte Mall with regards to a shoplifter who was caught stealing from one of their stores. Forty-two-year- old Kingston resident, Tracey Anne Brenton was taken to the Belleville Police Service where she was later released on a promise to appear with an August 29 court date to answer to one count of theft under $5,000.
Breach of Court Order
On August 3 at approximately 4 a.m., police arrested a 42-year-old Belleville male with regards to an investigation in relation to a breach of a family court order that was received on July 31. The male was released on a promise to appear as well as an officer in charge undertaking with conditions. He was given a court date of August 28 to answer to the charge of disobeying order of court. The man’s identity is being withheld to protect the identity of the complainant.
