Since 2017, the Northern Pass cycling ride in Muskoka has raised $500,000 for Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
A five-member team from Belleville, called the Spirit of the Dragon, is joining the fundraising ride this year.
It includes Bob Loiselle who has been fighting brain cancer for the past five years.
Loiselle tells Quinte News he marvels at the innovations the Centre used to fight his cancer.
“There are innovations that happen all the time. The kind of things Princess Marqaret is doing. They’re developing treatments and supporting patients all the time. If it weren’t for Princess Margaret I don’t know where I would have been able to get this radiation treatment.”
Now he wants to give back.
Team member Daryl Radford says the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre touches many lives.
The Spirit of the Dragon team has raised $5,000 for the cause.
Team members are Bob Loiselle, Daryl Radford, Jane Moodey, Ron Moodey and Fraser Moodey. Charles “Chuck” Harris is out of country and not able to join the team this year.
Radford says anyone wanting to donate can do so by clicking here:
The Northern Pass Ride takes place in Muskoka on August 11.
