A longtime Belleville Police officer has received a major award from the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police.
Constable Dan Hounslow was honoured with the OACP Leadership Award for 2019, after being selected as the top leader out of 28,000 police officers across the province.
Belleville Police Chief Ron Gignac says Hounslow, who has been a member of the BPS for more than 30 years and has coached 23 recruits over that time, is having a direct impact on the future of the police service.
Gignac adds “it’s a true testament to the type of person that Constable Hounslow is and what he stands for”.
Constable Hounslow wasn’t in attendance when the recognition was given locally on Monday.
