Quinte West’s Public Works Committee is recommending Council approve the department’s budget with a 5.28 percent increase for this year. Public Works Chair Jim Harrison says the increase is mostly due to tough winter weather last year, which caused the City to empty it’s winter control reserves, and more. If approved, Quinte West’s transportation budget would come in at a little over 7 million dollars.
