Crews and aircraft from 8 Wing Trenton’s 424 Search and Transport Squadron will continue a search for a well-known businessman and his teenage son, missing since Thursday on a fishing trip in northern Quebec.
The pair were in a Robinson R44 helicopter and failed to return when scheduled.
Meanwhile, a 424 Squadron Hercules aircraft and crew were diverted from that search Friday evening, and located a float plane that had crashed elsewhere in northern Quebec.
Search and rescue technicians parachuted down to the crash site to find three men dead and one man alive.
The survivor was hoisted onto a Griffon chopper and taken to a hospital nearby.
The four men were on a fishing trip.
