After taking a 4 shot lead in the second round, Brigitte Thibault hung on to win Golf Ontario’s Women’s Amateur Championship at Black Bear Ridge in Belleville.
The 20-year-old Thibault from Rosemere Quebec had a four round total of 1 under 287 for a one shot win over Emily Zhu of Richmond Hill.
Thibault is in her rookie campaign with Team Canada after collecting three top 10 finishes as a member of the Fresno State Bulldogs.
Plainfield’s Jessie Mercer, who golfs out of Black Bear finished with a 78 yesterday and tied for 43rd overall.
