BELOW IS RELEASE FROM BELLEVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT
Belleville Firefighters from Stations 1 and 2 responded to a fire alarm activation in an industrial park factory. Upon arrival fire crews were advised that there was a fire in one of the facility’s industrial natural gas ovens. Under the Incident Command of Acting Captain Pete Huffman, firefighters made their way into the facility where they encountered heavy smoke and flame inside the industrial oven. A fire hose was deployed into the building and positive pressure fans were set up to aid in the removal of smoke. The fire was brought under control at approximately 6:08 p.m. There were no injuries to staff at the factory or firefighters. Damage was limited to the oven. There is no damage estimate available for this fire. Although the cause of the fire is not suspicious, it remains under investigation.
