There’s a desire to bring a little bit of the farm into the city. At its meeting this afternoon Belleville city council will hear from a delegation hoping to have the city allow so called “backyard chickens”.
The residents will call for a limited number of chickens to be allowed on city properties as pets and for egg production.
Many communities allow backyard chickens under strict conditions.
Also today, council will hear an update on the blue box program from Quinte Waste Solutions.
Belleville council meets at 4 o’clock this afternoon at city hall.
