With Environment Canada and Hastings Prince Edward Public Health issuing heat warnings, the City of Belleville has decided to open cooling centres, to help people get out of the extremely warm temperatures.
Cooling centres will be open at the Belleville Public Library and Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre, with the library also hosting two water bottle filling stations.
City staff say you can also cool off by visiting the free splash pads at Riverside, Parkdale and Kinsmen Parks, with the outdoor Kinsmen Pool also available for use, at a cost of $3 per swimmer.
The city is reminding residents to check on vulnerable friends and family members in hot conditions, including seniors who live on their own, kids and people without air conditioning.
