The Belleville Police Service responded to 66 calls for service between July 2, 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and July 3, 2019 at 5:00 a.m.
Weapons
At 9 p.m. on July 2, 2019 police attended a residence on Albion Street with regard to a disturbance between a male and female. While on scene, police observed an altered shotgun that was not stored properly. Forty-eight-year-old Larry White of Belleville was arrested and later charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm and careless storage of a firearm. He was later released on a PTA with a court date for August 1, 2019.
Public Intoxication
At 12:30 a.m. on July 3, 2019 police attended a residence on Ann Street with regard to a disturbance. Several persons were yelling and setting off fireworks. Police arrested a 36-year-old Belleville man for public intoxication. He was later released from BPS cells with a Liquor Licence Act citation once sober.
At 1:30 a.m. on July 3, 2019, police attended a residence on John Street for a male party who had been drinking and causing problems. Police had attended the residence earlier in the evening and warned the male about his actions. On the second occasion the male was outside on the street continuing with his earlier behavior. A 39-year-old Belleville man was arrested for public intoxication. He was later released from BPS cells with a Liquor Licence Act citation once sober.
