Three years ago the Chicago Blackhawks traded Belleville’s Andrew Shaw to the Montreal Canadiens. Yesterday they got him back.
The pesky Shaw spent the first five years of his NHL career in Chicago where he was a fan favourite and he helped the Hawks win the Stanley Cup in 2013 and 2015. Facing salary cap issues the Blackhawks sent the pesky Shaw to Montreal for two – second round draft picks. This time Chicago sent a second and a third round pick Montreal’s way along with a swap of 7th rounders.
Shaw scored 19 goals and 28 assists in 63 games with Montreal this season. In 504 NHL games he has 111 goals and 122 assists.
