Much like they did before area high school proms, OPP are reminding students to have a safe end to the school year, especially with graduation parties planned across the region.
Police say students should ask one question before heading to those parties, “will it be a celebration to remember, or regret?”
If alcohol and drugs are involved, police say parties can tend to get out of control and students can expose themselves to bad situations that could involve legal, or health-related consequences.
If you’re heading to a grad party you’re reminded to not drive if you choose to drink or use drugs and if you suspect someone is driving while impaired, you can call 911.
Police say it’s also important to plan ahead for a ride home and never be afraid to call your parents if you need a lift.
Most of all, police are encouraging students to have a safe celebration and are congratulating graduates from across the Quinte Region.
