For months they have been providing hot meals daily at Belleville’s Market Square, and now they are the ones needing help.
A group of volunteers with Not Alone Team Quinte will feed between 75 and 100 people per night, provide them with dry blankets or socks, clean needles, or fentanyl kits.
They add that they do their best to direct clients to mental health programs and groups as well.
Not Alone Team Quinte says it costs about $400 a night to provide the meal and drinks, but they are about $2,000 in the red.
The daily meals are at 5:00 p.m., directly behind city hall.
