Belleville Police Service responded to 73 calls for service from June 14, 2019 at 5 a.m. to June 15, 2019 at 5 a.m.
Domestic Sexual Assault
On June 14 at approximately 11 a.m. police arrested a 23-year-old Belleville male in relation to domestic abuse from an investigation that was initiated on June 6. The male was released on a promise to appear with officer in charge conditions, on charges that include two counts of sexual assault, two counts of assault, uttering threats and breaching his probation. He was given a court date of July 4 to answer to the charges. His name is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
Mischief
On June 14 at approximately 11 a.m., a 33-year-old Belleville male surrendered himself to police at their front lobby with relation to an incident from the 13th. The initial call was received by police at approximately 7 p.m. when a disturbance was being reported in the area of an east end apartment complex. A vehicle in the parking lot was damaged but there were no reported injuries at the time. Calvin Patrick was released on a promise to appear with officer in charge conditions on a single count of mischief and was given a July 4 court date to answer to the charge.
On June 14, shortly before 4 p.m., police arrested a 25-year-old male for mischief in relation to damaging property at The Salvation Army that was reported on June 9. Investigation further revealed that the male was on probation as well. Aaron Woods of Belleville was released on a promise to appear with a July 11 court date.
Drug charge
On June 14, shortly after 10 a.m., police received a call with regards to a disoriented female in the area of Dundas St. E. and Farley Ave. Police located a 38-year-old Belleville resident, and investigation found her to be in possession of drugs and on probation. Jamie Lynne Whiteman was arrested and taken to The Belleville Police Service where she was later released on a promise to appear on charges of possession under the controlled drugs and substances act and breach of probation. Whiteman was given a July 11 court date to answer to the charges.
Impaired driving
On June 15 at 2:30 a.m., police were called to the area of North Front Street regarding a male driver believed to be impaired. Police located the vehicle with the described male, and determined that he appeared to be impaired by alcohol. Josh Willis-Wood, 25, of Brighton was arrested and charged with impaired driving and over 80mgs. He will appear in court on June 27.
