Three suspects are in court Friday, after an armed robbery overnight in Tweed.
Around 10:45 p.m. Thursday, Central Hastings OPP were called to a Victoria Street gas station, where a man had entered the store brandishing a weapon.
There were two men waiting outside.
The three left the scene with a small amount of money.
Later overnight, officers found the getaway vehicle after it crashed on Highway 41, near McCutcheon Road north of Roblin.
One person was injured and taken to hospital, while the two others fled the scene, one caught shortly after.
A third was found on the 401 after a vehicle crashed into the ditch.
Charges laid in the case are as follows:
- 28 year old William VANDERDUSSEN of Kingston, Ontario has been charged with two counts of Robbery with Weapon – Criminal Code of Canada (CCC), two counts of Dangerous Operation- CCC, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000- CCC, Theft Over $5000 of a Motor Vehicle- CCC and Flight from Peace Officer- CCC.
- 19 year old Caleb DAIGLE of Loyalist Township, Ontario has been charged with two counts of Robbery with a Weapon – Criminal Code of Canada
- A 17 year young person from Madoc, Ontario has been charged with two counts of Robbery with Weapon – Criminal Code of Canada and two counts of Disguise with Intent – Criminal Code of Canada

Within minutes of the Tweed armed robbery, there was another one involving a gun on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
Around 11 p.m., officers were notified about two men who entered the Fiddler’s Green Dispensary.
They brandished a hand gun and made off with two tins of cannabis.
The owner of the store pursued the suspects, who left in a silver or grey Lexus.
Police Chief Jason Brant tells Quinte News that on Shannonville Road, the suspects fired shots at the owner, who gave up pursuit.
They left on the 401.
They were wearing black clothing and black balaclavas.
