After missing out on the full-time head coaching job with the Ottawa Senators, Belleville native Marc Crawford is heading to the Windy City, as an assistant.
Crawford will join the coaching staff of Jeremy Colliton with the Chicago Blackhawks for the upcoming season.
Crawford served an as assistant coach with Ottawa the past three seasons and took over as head coach late in the year when Guy Boucher was let go.
He’ll also join his son Dylan in Chicago, who joined the hawks a video coach this past season, following a year doing the same job with the AHL Belleville Senators.
Crawford’s resume includes18 seasons of coaching experience, including 1,169 games as a head coach.
He also won the Jack Adams Award as NHL Coach of the Year in 1995, a Stanley Cup title in 1994/95 and a Swiss league championship in 2015/16.
