The owners of the North Shore RV Park on Weller’s Bay in Quinte West have been working day and night to hold back the rising waters of the bay but again much of their property has been flooded.
Over 2,600 sandbags, reinforced with gravel, are now holding back 26 inches of excess water in one area.
The flooding is already worse than what occurred in 2017 and that cost the business $80,000.
The owners told Quinte West council Monday the biggest problem now was high waves caused by speeding boats and other watercraft in the bay threatening to break down their sandbag walls and destroy the property.
Council agreed to immediately post NO WAKE SPEED LIMIT 5 KMH signs as soon as possible. The OPP will be asked to inform people in the area of the speed restrictions and will enforce them.
