A Belleville man is facing multiple charges including assaulting a peace officer on the weekend.
Northumberland OPP say they were called to an incident in Brighton on Saturday around 7:30 p.m. in regards to an uncooperative, intoxicated man.
Officers found 28-year-old Travis Jonathan Little walking east across Prince Edward Street.
Police say he refused to comply with directions and then became verbally abusive and aggressive towards officers once he was told he was being placed under arrest.
Little then resisted officers’ attempts to arrest him leading to charges of assault of a peace officer, resisting a peace officer, causing a disturbance and being intoxicated in a public place.
He was released once sober and is scheduled to appear in Cobourg court in July.
