Both teams and individuals walked laps around the high school’s track in support of the Canadian Cancer Society which helps raise money for research and local programs helping those suffering with the disease, and honouring the victims of cancer.

Relay for Life event chair Lauren Dashnay says, they are close to their goal for donations.
To this point close to $50,000 has been raised with more donations expected before the final total is announced.
