Students at a local high school have stepped up to help “back the build” of a new hospital in Prince Edward County.
The grade 10 marketing class from Prince Edward Collegiate Institute donated $700 to the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation on Friday, with funds raised from a two-day business venture, which included a bake sale and other student-led initiatives.
Foundation Executive Director Shannon Coull noted that since the community touches so many people, most if not all of the students in the class, or PECI in general, have visited the hospital at one time or another.
The donation helps to push the Back The Build Campaign past the $11 million mark, toward its $16.5 million goal.
