Staff will ask Belleville council for extra funding to sign up two more future physicians at its meeting Monday.
Under the recruitment program, two family doctors or medical students, are signed up each year.
Staff are confident they will have two by the end of the year and believe another couple could be signed on as well.
The funding request is for another $50,000 this year to be taken from Veridian/Elexicon dividend income.
The program provides recruits with $150,000 over six years. So far, 32 family physicians plus three specialists have signed on.
