It’s been a long search, but the City of Belleville will have a new police chief, starting March 30th.
Replacing former chief, Steve Tanner, will be Inspector Cory McMullan, now serving with the Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service. She has worked there for 22 years.
Inspector McMullan will be Belleville’s first female chief of police. She is 46 years of age, and married with 2 teenage children.
Police Board Chair, Bob Dolan says McMullan’s education, policing experience, and community service, separated her from the other candidates.
