A Cobourg man has been arrested after reports of an impaired driver in Cramahe Township last night.
Police were told that a man was seen walking unsteadily towards oncoming traffic, around 5:30 p.m., before getting into the driver’s seat of a Chevy pickup and driving south on County Road 25.
The vehicle and driver were located by police near Victoria Park in Colborne and 56-year-old Peter Haig was charged with impaired driving, driving while prohibited and dangerous driving.
He was released with a July 17 court date and the truck was impounded for 45 days.
