This region was well represented at the Canada-wide Science Fair 2019 in Fredericton this week.
Finalists at the event qualified from 25,000 competitors at more than 100 regional science fairs across the country.
The Quinte Regional delegation consisted of Maggie Hollett, Miranda Álvarez Rodríguez, Trishna Krishantha, William Tomlinson, and Alex Rozic.
Alex Rozic of St. Paul Catholic S.S. won a Bronze medal in the junior division and Maggie Hollett of Queen Elizabeth P.S. won the Intact Climate Change Resilience Award.
Also, East Northumberland Secondary School students Hana Haytaoglu and Hannah MacAusland were awarded a bronze medal of excellence for their bioplastics project.
The Canada-wide Science Fair has been promoting science and showcasing students scientific work since 1962.
