Quinte West OPP are investigating a sudden death in the city last week.
OPP, Quinte West Firefighters and Hastings-Quinte EMS were called to a medical assist involving an unresponsive man, on Adrian Court, early last Friday (May 3) morning.
A 39-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not released any specific details, including the man’s name, but say they want to draw attention to an increased number of death investigations that seem to be connected to the buying, selling, use, or misuse of opioids, which has led to a public health crisis across the country.
The Quinte West Crime Unit and OPP Criminal Investigations Branch are investigating and anyone who might have information can call OPP or Crimestoppers.
