There could soon be a new event at track and field competitions held at Mary Ann Sills Park in Belleville.
At its meeting Monday, council will be asked to approve spending $40,000 to buy a pole vault landing system for the park.
However taxpayers won’t be paying for the specialized equipment because Brian Poste, who is involved with the Hastings Prince Edward School Board and its Track and Field Program, was able to receive a grant to buy it from the Parrott Foundation.
