An 18 year-old woman who had reported being assaulted multiple times in Bancroft is now facing charges herself.
Bancroft OPP say the most recent complaint came on New Year’s Eve, when the woman said she had been attacked by an unknown suspect while exiting her vehicle at work and had injuries to her face and arms.
The OPP Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit and forensics teams were called in, but a suspect was never found.
Investigators now say she had made two previous similar complaints in September and November of last year, but after looking at the case closely, have found no suspect to charge.
The woman is charged with three counts each of public mischief and obstructing police and will answer to the charges in June.
Police say there was never any threat to public safety.
