Belleville’s Alex Meagher has led the Holy Cross College men’s golf team to a first place finish in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.
The two-day event was played at Cog Hill Golf Club in Lemont, Illinois outside of Chicago.
Meagher is a graduate of Moira Secondary School and a business major in his senior year at Holy Cross at Notre Dame Indiana.
Meagher shot rounds of 69 and 71 to finish first overall in the tournament which featured 11 conference teams.
With the first place finish Holy Cross College qualifies for the NAIA National Tournament to be played at Las Sendas Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona on May 21st.
It’s been a big spring for Alex. Two weeks ago he was named the CCAC Men’s Golfer Player of the Week.
