UPDATED: Drug bust nets methamphetamine, cocaine

A drug bust Tuesday morning in Napanee has resulted in the arrest of six people and seizure of a substantial quantity of methamphetamine.

Lennox and Addington OPP Detachment Commander Inspector Scott Semple says their force is trying to get these drugs off the streets.

The Street Crime Unit along with the Tactics and Rescue Unit executed two search warrants Tuesday morning at a home on Robert Street.

Five of the six people arrested were held in custody for bail hearings.

Officers seized methamphetamine, cocaine, various other pills, approximately $2,000 cash, scales, multiple cell phones and notebooks.

Inspector Semple said this bust, and other recent busts in Napanee, should put those people on notice who deal drugs that it is only a matter of time; officers are coming for you.

Charged are:

Derrick Robert VELEY, 29 years of Napanee with:

•  Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by Officer in Charge
•  Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
•  Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
•  Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs

Jennifer VANKOUGHNETT, 32 years of Loyalist Township with:

•  Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
•  Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
•  Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- other drugs

Andrew Gordon VANKOUGHNETT 39 years of Napanee with:

•  Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs

Dessiree Elizabeth KEMP, 22 years, of Quinte West with:

• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs

Shelley VELEY, 50 years of Napanee with:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs- two counts
• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – two counts

Sarah Melissa Marie MCNAMEE 37 years of Napanee with :

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Other Drugs- two counts
• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – two counts

 

All parties are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee at a future date.
