Anyone living near the shores of the Bay of Quinte or Lake Ontario knows the water is high and according to the experts, water levels are going to get higher over the next few days.
Quinte Conservation has issued a Flood Watch for the bay and the lake.
On Sunday, Lake Ontario’s water levels were 38 centimetres above normal for this time of year and levels could rise as much as 15 cm or greater in the next week.
Residents along shores should take steps to protect their property.
Local municipalities can provide sandbags.
Water levels in the bay and lake are expected to be above normal into the summer months.
