A man died in a house fire in Cobourg yesterday (Saturday).
According to Today’s Northumberland, a 64-year-old man and two dogs were rescued from the basement of a burning house on Ontario Street in Cobourg by Hamilton Township firefighters.
However, the man died later in hospital. One of the dogs also passed away.
The man was identified as Dennis Passmore.
The fire call came shortly after 8 o’clock yesterday morning.
The cause is under investigation but is believed to be accidental.
