The field is full for the third annual J.T. Classic Pro Am charity golf tournament June 27 at Trillium Wood.
Details were announced at Shorelines Casino yesterday where the goal is to raise $25,000 for the new Grace Inn Shelter and Canadian Mental Health. However Pro-Am co-chair Jodie Jenkins says that is just the beginning of a new three-day event.
The Belleville Open will be held June 28 and 29, also at Trillium Wood. The Great Lakes Golf Tour is an Ontario-based development tour. President Jim Kenesky was on hand to make the announcement. It is just the second event on the 12-tour schedule to be held in Eastern Ontario.
Jenkins says the J.T. Classic Pro Am has been sold out since February and there is a waiting list of teams still interested. Funds will be raised through entry fees and sponsorship
and a special night for teams at Shorelines Casino on June 26.
Headlining the Pro-Am is former PGA Tour players Jon Mills of Belleville who is now the head coach at Kent State and Ian Leggatt who won the PGA’s Tuscon Open in 2002.
Shorelines Casino presented a cheque to the J.T. Classic Pro-Am for $3500.
