Significant rain and rising water levels are causing some flood-related issues in the northern part of our listening area.
Bancroft OPP say the High Falls Trail, which leads up to the Baptiste Lake Dam in Hastings Highlands, has been closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
Anyone in that area is asked to take note of caution tape and barriers at the scene.
Police are also warning about washouts on roads in the area and say if you come across a washed out road, you should not try to cross over or drive through the area.
They say while the water may look shallow, there could be gaps in the ground, causing you or your vehicle to get stuck.
The Town of Bancroft has also closed off some areas around the Riverside Park and Millennium Trail, with police saying they’ll be patrolling and laying charges against any trespassers.
