Loyalist College and the YMCA of Northumberland are working together to help YMCA employees earn their Registered Early Childhood Educators diploma.
The college will provide access to the part-time online program to deliver various YMCA-specific children’s programs.
Loyalist College President and CEO Dr. Ann Marie Vaughan says this tailored delivery option gives staff the flexibility and convenience of pursuing post-secondary education while working full-time.
She continues by saying it allows staff to immediately apply their knowledge by helping support young children, their families and communities in the development of optimal learning and well-being.
Northumberland YMCA CEO Eunice Kirkpatrick says there are currently 11 staff members working towards their ECE certification, helping to further their skills and increasing the number of qualified staff throughout the County.
