There is an update on the fire on Weese Road in The County Thursday.
Around 10:15 a.m., Prince Edward Fire crews were called to the single level home after working smoke alarms alerted residents of the blaze.
Fire Chief Scott Manlow tells Quinte News that 17 fire members worked to knock down the flames just before 12 p.m.
The cause will go down as undetermined.
The kitchen fire was not suspicious.
Damage was pegged at $125,000, with damage being limited to the east end kitchen and living room.
