The City of Belleville’s Planning Advisory Committee has a busy meeting ahead Monday.
City planning staff are recommending that the committee approve rezoning of 36 acres of land running from Bell Boulevard north to the 401 that would eventually allow a Costco to be built there, along with a multitude of other retail and service businesses in a massive project.
The land is between the casino and Wallbridge Loyalist Road.
Also, staff is recommending that the committee approve rezoning to allow a six-storey residential building with commercial uses on the ground floor, to be built along Dundas West just west of Coleman Street.
And, there’ll be a public meeting on a controversial proposal for a rezoning to allow 13 townhouses be be built at 427 Farnham Road, at Moira Lea Court, near a planned roundabout.
All Planning Advisory Committee decisions must be given final approval by city council.
The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. today at city hall.
