A 28-year-old Quinte West man has been charged after a single-vehicle crash just north of Belleville on the weekend.
Central Hastings OPP responded to Highway 62 south of Old Madoc Road, around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, where they found an abandoned vehicle that appeared to have been involved in a crash.
The car had been travelling northbound on 62 when it left the roadway, hit a guard rail and sign, then ended up in the east ditch.
The driver fled the scene but was later found at a nearby home.
Clinton Leavey is charged with two counts of breaching recognizance, along with one count each of breaching probation, driving without a licence, leaving the scene of an accident and failing to report damage to property.
